Firstly I just have to mention how pretty this book is. As soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be my kind of thing. Pastels, white, gold, it’s just so beaut.
In a recent post I wrote about learning to work with my brain instead of against it, and learning to be compassionate towards myself. This book supports and encourages exactly that, and there’s a particular passage that I really loved.
This is something that really helped me. All I wanted to do was help ‘little me’ and in doing so, I learnt compassion and gained strength. There was one particular therapy session in which I actuqlly pictured ‘little me’ sitting beside me. It was very powerful and changed my whole outlook on everything that had happened and my life as a whole. Now, everything I do is for little Hannah. Learning this self compassion has completely changed my life. It has become a vital contributor to my recovery and allowed me to see things from a different perspective. I deserve to lead a good, happy life. Little Hannah deserves to lead a good, happy life. So I’m going to do that.
I feel that this book completely backed up everything I’d learnt from therapy and helped to enforce it in a way that I understood and was doable. Chloe’s anecdotes were so relatable and provided explanations, tips and that all important feeling of ‘woah, other people get it.’ But as well as this, the book is jam packed with what you can do about it.
The Anxiety Solution is available in most well-known book shops including Waterstones & WH Smith, as well as Amazon. Also, be sure to check out Chloe’s website which includes a blog and loads of resources to help with anxiety.
