Winter Lipstick Picks

Oh, how I love lipstick. I just can’t get enough of them. I have a pretty large collection but I can’t stop myself from buying more. No two shades are the same, so I must have all of them. That’s what I tell myself, anyway. Who cares that I have 12 nudes and 6 reds? They’re all different.

One of my favourite things about Autumn and Winter is the colours. Autumn brings beautiful browns and oranges and for me, Winter is all about reds and burgundies. Also, red and burgundy lipsticks make me feel sassy AF so not only are these my fave Winter lipsticks, you could also call them my slay, girl, slaaaay  lipsticks.

Stila Stay All Day Matte Liquid Lipstick in Bacca
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you may have seen my previous post on these Stila lipsticks (I would just like to point out that I have had no communication with Stila whatsoever and I get nothing at all for talking about these, I literally just love them). These are the most long-lasting lipsticks that I’ve found so far and I haven’t got a bad word to say about them. They smell good, they look good, they’re so long-lasting and the most matte, matte product that I’ve found. I’m gradually adding to my collection but this one in particular is my Winter pick of the shades I’ve got. It is actually also great for Summer but it’s a dark pink that I use to add a bit of colour with dark outfits.

Charlotte Tilbury Love Liberty
One of the most recent additions to the collection, this was one of those times where I get completely side tracked and buy things that I don’t really need because they’re oh so pretty. I went in with the intention of buying a Coral pink – I can justify this, mine had broken – but came out with a burgundy – I can’t really justify this but it’s alright because I’ve worn it loads since I bought it so money well spent, right?

L’Oréal Color Riche Lipstick in Blake’s Pure Red
I’d been searching for a classic red for quite a while when I found this. I’m quite fussy with reds because I’m conscious that I don’t suit anything too bright, so I turned to some bloggers for advice and decided to give this a go and oh gosh I love it. It’s the exact colour that I’ve been looking for, it’s long-lasting and it’s matte. Perfecto. As an example, I went out for dinner before writing this so I got ready at 6, went out for dinner and at 10pm the lipstick still looks exactly how it did when I first applied it, even after eating, drinking and smoking. Happy days!

RealHer Moisturising Lipstick in I am Powerful*
This lipstick was sent to me a few months ago by RealHer, with the rest of their moisturising lipstick range. This colour is one of my ideal Winter shades – dark, but not too dark, still bold without being overpowering.

NYX Lip Lingerie in Lipli (10)
I included this one mainly for the colour. Hate to be a Moaning Myrtle but I’m not a massive fan of the texture of this range. These are definitely matte and I love the colour of this particular shade but it is quite drying. However, I tried this colour on a bit of an impulsive decision after an Instagram and Pinterest binge of Mac’s Stone – apparently it’s a good dupe – and I actually didn’t think it would suit me. Before buying from Mac I decided to give this version a try in case it didn’t suit me and I looked horrendous, but it was actually alright and I wear it quite a bit now. Still interested to try Mac Stone but a wee bit terrified of looking ridic.

Wow that Loreal Blake one really caught my eye! <3 My favorite lipsticks at the moment are classic reds, 'cause you know, christmas. I love IsaDora's Perfect Matt Lipstick in Red Carpet and Zuii Organic's Classic Red 🙂
