Over the bank holiday weekend I decided to go shopping as I was on my own the whole time and feeling a bit down in the dumps. I’d only intended to buy a few essentials, some tops, and maybe a little treat for myself. I came away with a few essentials, two tops, and lots of little treats for myself. Oops. Here are the treats!
Sleek Blush in Rose Gold
This. I bloomin’ love this! I dropped my blusher on the floor and it broke – I do this all the time, when will I learn? – and as I’d never tried anything from Sleek before, I decided to give this one a go. I swatched it in store and, gosh, mermaid vibes. This is actually a bit like a highlighter and a blush all in one, super pigmented and has a really lovely shimmer about it. L o v e.
Sleek ‘Matte Me’ Ultra Smooth Matte Lip Cream in Vino Tinto
I wanted to try one of these for a while and as I’m already in Autumn mode, I couldn’t resist this colour. It’s such a beautiful burgundy – I’m a sucker for burgundy – and the swatch stayed on my hand for so long. This seems like a good indicator of the lipstick’s staying power, but I’ll let you know for definite once I’ve tried it.
Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel
Ok in fairness I did actually need this. I’m the worst for cleaning my makeup brushes and I don’t do it anywhere near as often as I should.
Victoria’s Secret Fragrance Mist in Aqua Kiss
I’m really glad I found this. Victoria’s Secret Bombshell perfume is one of my favourite fragrances of all time but of course, being VS it’s a bit on the pricey side. This fragrance mist smells pretty much exactly the same as the Bombshell perfume for a fraction of the price. Happy days!
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Lunch Date
After hearing good things about Tanya Burr’s makeup range I decided to give her lip gloss a try. I was actually looking for Martha Moo but annoyingly it was out of stock, so I picked up this one instead. To me it’s a pretty normal nude colour, and it’s not particularly long lasting but I guess most glosses aren’t. I kind of wish I’d chosen a brighter, more pigmented colour.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
After seeing lots of people use these in tutorials I wanted to give one a try. Last week I was sent a fab contour kit from Covershoot Cosmetics but I haven’t got a decent contour brush to use with it. This sponge works well.
In my defence, a huge Charlotte Tilbury counter has opened in my local Fenwicks and I didn’t buy anything. I’d already spent a small fortune so I decided to walk away – where’s my medal? – I’ll save that for next payday.
