GLOSSYBOX First Impressions

I’ve seen quite a few beauty boxes around lately and having looked into a few different ones and seeing what they offer, I decided to give GLOSSYBOX a go. I ordered my first box last Tuesday evening and it arrived on Friday so I was quite impressed before the box even arrived. Anyway, here’s what I thought…

Packaging
I absolutely adore the GLOSSYBOX branding and packaging and if I’m honest, that’s partly what swayed me to choose it over the other beauty boxes. Pink and pretty – I’m sold!

Products
I’d say there’s quite a good variety of different things in the box, but whether they’re all things I’ll actually use, I’m not sure.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette – Starry Night | RRP £4
The fact that there was even an eyeshadow palette in the box at all gets brownie points from me because I do love a good eyeshadow palette. I have to say though, these aren’t the types of shades I would normally choose. Right now I’m into coppers, bronzes and light pinks so I think this palette might be a bit too bold for me right now but I’m definitely going to give it a try.

COWSHED Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion | RRP £20
You can’t go wrong with body lotion, really. Part of me feels like this is a bit of an easy option for a beauty box and I have so many body lotions that I probably wouldn’t actively seek a new one out. This smells gorgeous though and is made with natural ingredients. I’m hoping it well help my skin out a bit as it’s so dry from my holiday. Good timing!

Spa To You Deep Core Cleansing Facial Brush & Massager | RRP £6.99
Again, this probably isn’t something that I would usually buy but that’s the reason I wanted a beauty box – to try and test new things. I will definitely be giving this a go for a deeper cleanse.

MUDMASKY Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask | RRP £53
I can’t wait to try this! I do love a good face mask. I quite like the packaging of this and it smells really good, my only concern is that I have really sensitive skin and things like this often break me out, so I’ll let you know how I get on.

As August marks GLOSSYBOX’s fifth birthday, the box also contained an extra gift. We each got a Mini Monogram Pochette from Rae Feather, exclusively designed for Glossybox. Cute!

All in all I’d say I’m fairly happy. They’re definitely not all products that I would choose for myself but that’s the exact reason I wanted to give a beauty box a go. Also, the newsletter included in the box gives a sneak peek of  the next month, and September’s is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – my favourite mascara of all time – so I’ll definitely be getting the September box!

Has anyone else tried GLOSSYBOX? What did you think?
