Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick | La Merveilleuse

On my last shopping trip I popped into Fenwicks so I could buy my favourite perfume as I’d run out, and of course I stumbled across the Chanel counter. I’d been thinking about buying a Chanel lipstick for a while – lots of bloggers seem to have them so they must be good, right?!

If you’re a regular reader you will probably know by now that I have been loving matte lips recently. So I had a little look at the matte shades, spent some time swatching, and as soon as I saw La Merveilleuse I just had to have it.

It’s a gorgeous shade of pink that can (in my opinion) be used all year round. Whilst being perfect for the Spring and Summer months, La Merveilleuse is also great for adding a bit of colour to the Winter months – I tend to wear quite dull clothes! I find it difficult to take photos of lipsticks because I obviously want to make it look nice and edit the image so it’s not really dull and dark, but at the same time you guys need to be able to see the shade! If it helps, I’m wearing this shade in the image of me in my sidebar, and it’s unfiltered.

The lipstick is still quite creamy despite being matte, which for me is important. I hate those matte lipsticks which immediately make your lips feel dry. It stays on for a fairly long time, too. Not as long as Stila’s Stay All Day Mattes as they’re pretty much invincible and I’ve been very impressed by those, but still longer than most other lipsticks I’ve tried.

On the whole I’m pretty impressed with this and I use it quite a lot, I would definitely recommend it.

What are your favourite lipsticks?

That’s such a pretty colour! I’m a sucker for matte lipsticks – I must own about 30 at this point, which is quite worrying… but this one is beautiful! You look gorgeous wearing it lovely 🙂

This shade is so beautiful! It suits you so well btw 🙂

I also think you did a good job of taking the photo for this post and I completely know what you mean about trying to edit to perfection but also struggling to keep the exact colour.

I got my mother this lipstick in a different shade for her birthday, and it’s so beautiful! I love the packaging, and the formula is delightful. It’s definitely a lovely treat!
